[Invitation] Advisory Program: Paraphrasing and Avoiding Plagiarism

Paraphrasing is usually described as a method when you put a passage from someone’s manuscript into “your own words.” But, what are your own words?

The correct answer is it must be considerably different. Every point of paraphrasing is to show you have read the manuscript properly and understood the idea, and also you are able to summarize the ideas into your own style.

If you just change a few words, replace word to a synonym, you will probably end up on plagiarism area. It is why, paraphrasing is matter in writing publication process and some people might think it is difficult to do.

According to this issue, Publication Management and Services (PMS) Universitas Sriwijaya are going to open a registration for a good event titled Advisory Program: Paraphrasing and Avoiding Plagiarism.

This event is going to engage Faizah Sari, Ph.D. as mentored. She is going to provide a clinic to advise selected participants. Every participant must bring their own manuscript and some references. It aims to discover if the essence of original idea is missing.
